Our Chef

At the heart of The Baklava House stands Chef Mualla Bulut—a master of dessert artistry and a storyteller through flavor.

Originally from Maraş, Turkey, Chef Bulut carries forward the legacy of one of Anatolia’s richest culinary cities. Positioned at the historic crossroads between Mesopotamia, Northern Syria, and Central Anatolia, Maraş has long been a melting pot of civilizations, flavors, and food traditions. It is here that Mualla's family, for generations, has preserved and perfected recipes passed down from the days of the Ottoman Empire.

Chef Bulut was born into a lineage of gastronomes—culinary artisans who have nurtured their craft for nearly three centuries. Her family’s dessert recipes are considered sacred formulas, with one golden rule: only the finest ingredients can unlock the true flavor. From hand-ground nuts to traditionally prepared syrups, every element must meet exacting standards.

The best baklava I've ever had. Super fresh, not overly sweet (despite it looking very syrupy), just perfect. Do yourself a favor and get it.

The Baklava (Turkish style) is out of this world. Pistachio topping, delicate top, dense bottom... it's to die for.

Neela H. - Los Angeles

I would give this baklava 10 stars if I could. The best I've ever had by miles, can't recommend it enough
